On Wednesday the Evergreen Park Diamondbacks announced to the media that Teddy Andrysiak was named their player of the week.
In the weekend double-header against the Devils, Andrysiak went a combined 5 for 6 with 4 RBI, 1 run scored and a sacrifice fly. In addition to Andrysiak’s offensive explosion at the plate, his defense was Gold Glove material, scooping throws out of the dirt like it was Ben and Jerry’s Colorado Mudslide ice cream.
Said Andrysiak of the honor, “This is a simple game. You catch the ball. You throw the ball. You hit the ball. On Sunday, I was not a lolly-gagger – I was a contributing member of the Diamondback team.”
